 Match Report

This fixture was going to be a hard one with Radcliffe Olympic unbeaten and conceding only 4 goals in 6 league games this season. Radcliffe started the game putting us under pressure and we had to be strong in defence. After 20 minutes play Phil Massingham beat our defence to put Radcliffe one up. Then in the 24th minute we conceded a penalty which was taken by Carl Westlake but a tremendous save by Daniel Hanley kept the score at 1-0. The game was end to end for the remainder of the first half with Daniel Hanley keeping Radcliffe at bay and the teams went in at half time still at 1-0.

The second half started well for Nomads putting pressure on Radcliffe until 22 minutes into the half a serious injury to our player Louis Edwards, making his debut for Nomads stopped the game for 40 minutes until emergency services were able to get Louis away to hospital.

A decision was made by both teams to carry on the game and play restarted with Nomads putting constant pressure on the Radcliffe defence then after 72 minutes play substitute Warren York scored for Nomads to make it level from a pass by Martin Paston.

The remainder of the game was very close with both teams coming near to scoring but it remained level at 1-1. A great point earned by the Nomads squad.
