Welcome

 Desford FC

introduction imageDesford FC was formed in the summer of 2003 by Hilroy Benjamin & Robert Portch, who both had previous management experience running Tolwell FC for seven succesful years on Sunday mornings, but due to their own sons footballing demands had to give it up. They missed it that much, they decided to run a Saturday side, feeling that their experience and skill should not go to waste. They then approached some connections to try and get the club, Desford FC, up and running. A committee was set up comprising of Hilroy, Rob, Craig Mcadam, Glen Rajczyk and Glen Smith. Then we secured a sponsor, The Bulls Head(Desford), many thanks to Shaun Markham. Additional support coming from Spitfire Inns and The Raj Mahal restaurant. We then managed to secure our home ground, Kirkby Road. Having secured the committee, ground and sponsor, the playing side was now underway with the majority of the side who played under Rob and Hilroy at Tolwell, now coming to play for them on a Saturday. Desford FC was then entered into the Leicester & District league, starting in division two and working up to our present position. Our long term aim is to establish a club with sides ranging from under 8's all the way through to the senior side.
