A storming win from the Polska boys, who refuse to be intimidated in the back yard of those happy-go-lucky chaps from the 'Pool. When Polska arrive Pool try every trick in the book to unsettle them, ranging from getto blasters already blaring out to some muppet trying to pick a fight with Steve Whait before kick off - wrong guy to try that with, mate! Somehow, a Polish referee has been appointed, and he books Scott Burt inside 5 minutes for snarling and owning an offensive pony tail. Tom Lane puts Polska 2-0 up on 31 and 40 minutes, and in the second half Rob Crane and Steve Whait are magnificent as they stand up to a major Pool onslaught. Geoff Trill then gets his 'headbutters revenge' and puts the game beyond doubt on 71 minutes, before super sub Ash contributes with 2 of his own. The Smith Steel boys who had come down expecting to see some raw violence were sadly disappointed, and this was a stunning performance from the reds, one of their very best.
