Season 2007-08

AFTER their midweek heroics against Advance Couriers, Leicester Polska grabbed their first win of the season against a quiet Es Cana side. Es Cana took the lead on 9 minutes, but Chris Eames equalised ten minutes later, his first goal in 1935 minutes, or since March 2006. Polska then took the lead on 47 minutes, Andy Ilnicki scrambling the ball home as Polska went on the attack. This seemed to be enough, as Es Cana rarely threatened to get back into it, but Eames made sure on 60 minutes, grabbing his second and Polska's third with a sweet header from an Adam Dyke throw. Wieczorek then rounded off the win with his 2nd goal of the season on 81 minutes, before Rys Procinski took to the field to become the only player to have sampled Premiership action both this season and during Polska's last top flight campaign in 1990. Stand in skipper Stef Thornton may well want to give the armband back for Polska's next game safe in the knowledge that he has a 100% record as Polska skipper!
