 Match Report

A patched up Leicester Polska side were demolished 8-2 by Advance Couriers in their first home game of the new season. Questionable defending and a general lack of belief and determination from the hosts saw Couriers easily pick off their targets, and they were in front after just 3 minutes, then doubled their advantage 11 minutes later. Keiran Linnett grabbed a hat trick for Advance, with Luke Cooper notching a double, whilst Danny Spencer also got on the scoresheet. Advance went in at half time 4-0 up with the game won, further goals coming on 33 and 36 minutes before Paul O'Callaghan then scored a quick fire double on 49 and 52 minutes, all the more frustrating as just seconds before Adam Dyke saw a goalbound header come back off the bar. Advance then went 7-0 up on 58 minutes. At 7-0 down, Polska amazingly started to find their feet, and it was Dyke again who was on target, reducing the defecit on 63 and 70 minutes, before Advance rounded off their great day ten minutes from time with their eighth. Kelvin Ayres made his debut in goal for Polska, as did Simon Vine coming off the bench, and Rys Procinski added another appearance into his portfolio when coming on with 23 minutes remaining.
