Season 2010-11

A disappointing start to the season for Polska after an action packed first half, but Polska should take some comfort from this game, as they have virtually rebuilt their squad in a short space of time. Mark Inglis got his season off to a perfect start as he opened the scoring against the run of play on 14 minutes. It's the 17th time in his Polska career that he has landed the 'first goalscorer' bets for punters. Berson then equalised on 19 minutes after an error from Polska's debutant keeper Norbert Rutkowski. Webby's then went 2-1 up on 31 minutes before Alan Chater equalised on 34 minutes, continuing his good form of last season which saw him land the managers' and players' player of the year trophies. Adam Simpson then made it 3-2 on 40 minutes after an unforced error from Marek Dziopa, but Radek Gagliewski made it 3-3 on 41 minutes before the half time break arrived. An uncharacterisitc Chater error saw Rutkowski concede a penalty on 47 minutes, and after Danny Poltney put the kick away, it seemed to knock the stuffing out of Polska, who never really recovered for the rest of the game. Valeganins made it 5-3 on 75 minutes before the Webbys keeper saved a late one on one with Inglis.

Stats: Radek Gagliewski made 3 cameo appearances for Polska in their first season in the Premiership, his last game coming in April 2008 against Hockley Rangers.

Stats: 7 Polish players in the Polska line up was the highest number since the mid 1980s.
