 Match Report

LEICESTER POLSKA’s miserable home form continued as they went down 3-0 to Intersport in the County Cup. Despite playing some nice football for the first 25 minutes, in which Polska were camped in their visitors’ half, they failed to make their advantage count. Intersport soon came into the came, and took the lead on 33 minutes when crossing and beating the Polska defence to the ball. And then on 40 minutes, Marek Dziopa failed to use the ball sensibly and lost possession, with the Intersport forward getting in behind Rob Crane. Polska lacked inventiveness, and once again failed to play the ball on the floor where they can be so lethal. And the visitors killed the game off on 67 minutes. Tomasz Godziebiewski hit the post with a direct free kick in the second half, but all in all it was a sorry performance from Polska who could and should have played so much better for the final hour of the game.

PLAYER PERFORMANCES:

PAJAK: No faults for any of the goals, but threw the ball out three times in the match and Polska got caught out as a result.

CRANE: Beaten to the ball by the Intersport forward for the first goal, but didn’t do too much else wrong. Replaced at half time.

WYSOCZANSKI: One of the few Polska players who did everything right and sensibly.

KRAGULEC: No impact at left back first half, but excellent in the second when switching to centre half.

ALAN CHATER: Performed well throughout, although did give the ball away a couple of times.

MARK CHATER: Couldn’t cut out the cross for the first goal, but otherwise a strong game.

OSIPINSKI: Worked hard on his favoured right wing, didn’t stop running.

GODZIEBIEWSKI: Quiet first half, but much better second and became more involved.

GAGLIEWSKI: Seemed too far apart from strike partner Wieczorek, and struggled to make an impact.

WIECZOREK: Worked hard and again won headers, but little chances came his way.

DZIOPA: Great pass to Osipinski first half, but also gave the ball away too many times, and needs to play more simple balls.

SUBS:

YOUNG: The young left back got exposed on his debut
