 Match Report

Leicester Polska were facing Willowbrook for the first time since their infamous semi final win at Oadby Town against them in 2002. Despite a depleted side, Polska rose to the occasion after Willowbrook enjoyed the better of the opening 15 minutes, and after finding their feet, frustrated their hosts who began arguing amongst themselves. Rob Crane then put Polska 1-0 up on 21 minutes, heading in from a Karol Osipinski corner. It was Rob's 14th Polska goal (from 234 starts) and his first since scoring against The Navigation in March 2006, some 2701 minutes and 2874 days ago! (Oh, a Statto's dream!).

Filip then missed a glorious opportunity to put Polska 2-0 up before the break. Polska seemed to tire in the second half, and Mark Dunkley made it 1-1 on 54 minutes before Tom Barber made it 2-1 on 74 minutes. Polska had chances to level the game through Dziopa, Osipinski and Krogulec and may consider themselves unfortunate not to take something from the game, but it was still a solid, well worked performance and they deserve great credit.
