Having just 11 men, three of them with man flu, and having been soundly beaten by Wanderers twice already this season, Polska travelled to Vicky Park as 16/1 no hopers to win here. But men are men down Polska way, and the eagles were in inspired form. 2-2 at half time, Andy Zarzycki made it 3-2 on 58 minutes, and with brother Antoni then having to go off with 25 minutes to go, Polska withstood a barrage of pressure from Eddie Dublin and co with 10 men to hang on for a famous win. It is rumoured that Chris Lewis got so hammered in The Dry Dock after the game, he sang the entire Rolling Stones back catalogue without stopping.
