POLSKA came from 2-1 down at half time to end up with a convincing victory over an Old Aylestone side who had won 3 from 3 before the game. Polska started brightly but a suspiciously looking offside through ball on Aylestone's right hand side was converted after just 8 minutes to leave us 1-0 down. It took Polska about 20 minutes to get going, after defending too deep for periods and sitting back a little too much. Eventually, Przemek scored on 38 minutes from a Mazurek free kick, scoring his 19th Polska goal from only 43 appearances - an amazing stat from a player who has played very few games as a forward. Polska then shot themselves in the foot - a defensive mix up when they stopped expecting an offisde whistle saw Aylestone go 2-1 up on 44 minutes and into the break. Polska kicked off the second half and didn't really look back. Using their width well and now defending much higher up the pitch, Mantas suddenly came alive, burying a chance that fell to him on 61 minutes after Mikolay's pass put him in. Mantas then scored again on 71 minutes to give Polska the lead after Max's first effort had been blocked. Mikolay then set up another, his long range free kick on 76 minutes saw Karol get on the end of it and nick it past the Aylestone keeper Scott Graham. The game ended on a downside as Butterworth looked to have suffered a severe injury - although some Polska players were unhappy as he initially appeared to go in dangerously on Mantas. The club wish him a speedy and swift recovery. 8' - Aylestone goal 0-1 38'- Przerwa GOAL 1-1 from a Mazurek assist 44'- Aylestone goal 1-2 61'- Tevelis GOAL 2-2 from a Gorny assist 71'- Tevelis GOAL 3-2 from a Max assist 75'- SUB: Wieczorek for Dobrzynski SUB: Mazurek for Kucznier 76'- Osipinski GOAL 4-2 from a Gorny assist *This was Karol's 9th Polska goal on his 59th appearance *Przemek was playing at right back for the first time in 2 years |
