 Match Report

TOM LANE already enjoys legendary status amongst the Polska faithful, and the long serving skipper scored one of his best ever goals in the famous red shirt to earn Polska a point. Polska looked dead and buried when Gavin Mobbs put Terratruck into a seemingly unassailable 2-0 lead on 74 minutes, but the hosts paid dearly for a number of missed chances as the Eagles came roaring back. After a bright start to the game that saw Polska miss two good early chances, Terratruck then got control of the game, and Ash Stone put them in front on 35 minutes with a bizarre corner kick that seemed to fool everybody. And once Mobbs doubled their lead with 16 minutes to go, it looked like game over. But Polska rode their luck and the impressive Alan Chater scored his 3rd goal in 4 games to make it 2-1 on 79 minutes. And with just a minute to go, skipper Lane produced the goal of the season when he chested down the ball and unleashed a 35 yard shot that powered into the net to secure a point. It was similar to the strike last season against JBS Rangers almost a year to the day - the last time Lane scored from open play - but this one was much better, and it broke Terratruck hearts! Polska are not one for draws - this was only their 5th stalemate in their last 100 games, and the last time they came back from being 2-0 down to get something out of a game was their April 2007 win over Countesthorpe.
