 Match Report

LUKASZ TABAKA marked his Polska debut with a stunning goal on 36 minutes to give his team a 1-0 half time lead, but it wasn't enough for full points, and in the end Polska had to settle for another draw, their second in a row, and have still only won 1 out of their last 7 games. Tabaka's 9.5million move from Glen Parva caught the headlines in the week, and he was mobbed by his jubilant team mates after a cracking volley from the edge of the area from an Alan Chater corner. Polska dominated the first half, and their only disappointment was to be only 1-0 up at the break, after outplaying their opponents. Alan Chater looked like he had scored in the 24th minute - receiving a pass from Tabaka, he unleashed a rasping shot that the Webbys keeper managed to tip brilliantly round the post for a finger tip save. Mark Chater also won his battle with Webbys star man Danny Poultney. Dispossessing him a number of times down Polska's left, Poultney began drifting across into other areas to receive the ball. In the second half, Polska just couldn't seem to get going again, and Poultney put a cross in on 49 minutes. The ball went through 3 Polska players who didn't managed to get a touch on it, and Liam Towers equalised to make it 1-1. Polska then had to weather a storm of pressure from the hosts, at one point down to 10 men following an injury to Karol Osipinski who later came back on. Spider Pajak won numerous headers in the second half, and Marcin Kragulec and Mark Chater also worked hard down Polska's left to stop the Webbys threat coming through. In the end a draw was about right, and with Polska losing 5-3 in this fixture last season, this was a good result. Tabaka also gave us a hint of what is to come and against weaker defences will have a field day. He went wide quite a lot in the first half and put in crosses, his work rate and passes to team mates impressive.

PLAYER PERFORMANCES:

PODBURALCYNSKI: Didn't really have a lot to do, but punched some vital crosses away at times.

CRANE: Won some solid headers in both halves when Webbys were pressing, stood up well to the challenge second half.

PAJAK: Cleared the ball time after time, both from the ground and mainly in the air, good game for the central defender.

DZIOPA: More disciplined than last week, put some good passes through, especially first half.

KRAGULEC: Didn't have as much to do as last week, but his pace came in handy in the second half when Polska were under pressure.

ALAN CHATER: Unlucky not to have scored but for a brilliant Webbys save, very busy and unlucky to be caught offside twice.

TABAKA: Great debut, and a stunning goal, made a huge difference to the Polska team and will be a big hit this season.

OSIPINSKI: Gave everything, including coming back on when clearly injured to help the cause. Skippered the side.

LANE: Replaced by Lenoir on 54 minutes due to injury.

WIECZOREK: Won a number of headed flick ons, tried to link up with Tabaka on many occasions.

MARK CHATER: Solid display, kept Danny Poultney quiet first half, and stood up to the pressure in the second, won vital headers.

LENOIR: Came on in 54th minute, won plenty of the ball but often couldn't complete his moves, but worked hard.
