 Match Report

POLSKA continued their effort from last week to give another solid performance against Guthlaxton who were in second place in the league. Although Polska went 2-0 up and threw away a golden chance for 3 points when Gutho equalised on 93 minutes, they had a bare 11, and on a very heavy, wet pitch once again gave everything for the cause, just like last week. Lukas Tabaka opened the scoring, tucking the ball away in the bottom right hand corner of the Gutho net after a pass from Savo Wieczorek. Gutho probably had their best spell in the last 7 minutes of the first half, finally springing to life, and Polska were relived to see the interval. But Polska then started the second half brightly, and it was Tabaka again who made it 2-0 on 57 minutes after an exquisite pass from Marek Dziopa. With no fresh legs to bring on, Polska were on the ropes a little when David Wasik was sucked into a foul on Simeon Davis to give Gutho a penalty. Jamie Jeyes made no mistake on 80 minutes. Polska perhaps needed to look after the ball a little better but they had given so much, that they were unable to prevent a scrambled late late Gutho goal. But they will take heart from two back to back strong performances and have really created an impression in the past few weeks.

PLAYER PERFORMANCES:

Andrzej: Pulled off a stunning save in the first half, not at fault for either goal

WYSOCZANSKI: Was probably the least worked of the four defenders all game, stuck to his task well

KRAGULEC: Again got stuck in like last week, but probably overplayed a little too much but only because he was trying so hard. Had the muddiest kit at the end.

DZIOPA: Some great passes, one in the first half came to nothing but in second half set up the goal

PAJAK: Solid and dependable as ever, even though he was dead on his feet last 10 minutes

A CHATER: Looked more comfortable right side of midfield, worked hard all game

WASIK: Exceptional performance and man of the match, deeply unlucky to be drawn in to the foul for the penalty

GAGLEWSKI: Terrorised the Gutho players down the left side, tired noticably last 10

TABAKA: Took his 2 goals very well, let the ball get away from him later on when running at goal which could have been his hat trick. Good game

WIECZOREK: Worked hard, and won some vital headers late on, including a solid defensive clearance.

M CHATER: Did really well trying to marshal the defence, won a lot in the air
