 Match Report

The battle for fourth spot goes on to our final game of the season against Fosse City where a draw will be good enough. Polska should have had all 3 points today against a Webbys side playing their final game of the season, and hopefully the stack of missed chances in the second half will not prove damning. Polska started brightly, with debutant Lukasz Groszewski doing well in a 5 man midfield. And his prowess was proved when he opened the scoring on 19 minutes, a good achievement against the best defence in the league. Unfortunately though, Polska decided to step off the pace for the rest of the second half, and when Matt Blake equalised on 25 minutes, Polska were on the ropes for the rest of the first half as Webbys ripped through them with apparent ease. A reshuffled 4-4-2 for the second half worked in Polska's favour, and they dominated the second half, without managing to break the deadlock. Chances came and went for Wieczorek, Dziopa, Tabaka and Osipinski in particular, but Polska just could not sneak the win their second half performance deserved.

PLAYER RATINGS:

ANDRZEJ: Didn't have a lot to do, but is playing very well lately and had a good game.

WYSOCZANKI: Yet another dependable performance and much better when put at full back for second half.

GROSZEWSKI: Great debut from the midfielder, capped with a first half goal.

DZIOPA: Came alive from his whisky hangover in the second half and pulled a lot of strings.

PAJAK: Another who was much happier as part of a back 4, good no nonsense performance.

A CHATER: Probed away second half to try and get in behind the Webbys back four.

TABAKA: Looked certain to score when through one on one with the keeper.

OSIPINSKI: Looked a bit ring rusty but strong tackles, especially in first half.

WIESNIEWSKI: Man of the match performance from the young Pole who terrorised the Webbys right back virtually all game.

WIECZOREK: Could have had a hat trick on another day, contributed to a lot of chances.

M CHATER: Struggled to master a bobbly pitch first half (as did everyone!), solid and dependable second half.

SUB:

CRANE: Would have been a popular match winner when he went on with 3 minutes to go for a Polska corner. 100th Knighton Park game.
