 Match Report

LEICESTER POLSKA overcame their trickiest test so far this season to beat SLB 4-3. Lukasz Tabaka opened the scoring on just 5 minutes from a Maciek Wisniewski cross, but after that SLB took a foothold on the game, and dominated from midfield. Polska seemed to go into their shells, and eventually the pressure told as Mark Chater turned into his own net on 33 minutes to make it 1-1. Polska were then indebted to Spider who saved them from a one on one just before half time. Polska showed their hosts so much respect that they offered to clean a few SLB players' cars at half time, as well as buy beers for all their opponents and distant relatives, as well as setting up standing orders for them. Polska came out in the second half with a lot more determination, and crucially, David Wasik's 59th minute goal from a Wiesniewski cross was allowed to stand despite SLB flagging for offside, which the referee over ruled. To be fair to referee Karl Robinson, he appeared to have got the decision spot on. Lukasz Tabaka then got his second and Polska's third on 68 minutes from a Przerwa cross, which again the SLB linesman flagged offside, which again the referee over ruled. Replays suggested Tabaka was level with the SLB defence, which resulted in the SLB linesman throwing his flag in the air in disgust and walking off, after earlier threatening to shove into Sav's bottom for his audacious attempt to question the linesman of his fair play. Wiesniewski then made it 4-1 on 79 minutes with a great individual strike from a Wasik pass, before Polska made some stupid defensive errors, allowing Danny Hogdkinson to pull one back on 86 minutes, followed by a Tommy Gilroy goal on 89 minutes, which he caressed with his hand and polished which the referee allowed to stand.

WIECZOREK: Had a few attempts at goal, and won crucial headers late on

TABAKA: Scored 2 goals and could have had more, but looks back to his best
