 Match Report

LEICESTER POLSKA failed to break their hoodoo of never beating Fosse City after an action packed game in the Knighton Park derby. Polska took the lead on 11 minutes when Maciek Wisniewski marked his seasonal debut with a fine goal after an inch perfect pass from Savo Wieczorek saw him use his pace to beat the Fosse defence. But the lead lasted just two minutes as Fosse quickly equalised to make it 1-1. Spider Pajak had a torrid day. Despite a later penalty save, he was arguably at fault for 3 of the Fosse goals, the worst of which was on 23 minutes as Fosse went 2-1 up. Rolling a ball out to Pzerwa in the right back position, after receiving it back, Pajak failed to clear and simply brushed the ball against the oncoming Fosse forward who made no mistake. Savo was unlucky to be given offside just before half time - he was clearly onside but ended up getting booked after a series of disagreements with the referee. Fosse started the second half brightly, and on 55 minutes went 3-1 up before Sav made it 3-2 on 60 minutes after Przerwa had closed down a Fosse defender. Krogulec was then booked for giving away a penalty on 62 minutes which Pajak saved. 3 minutes later Savo made it 3-3 after picking up a Dziopa pass and slotting it past a wrongfooted Simon Pickering in the Fosse goal. Pajak wasn't redeemed by his penalty save, and weakly dealt with a Fosse corner a minute later as Fosse went 4-3 up. It was then 5-3 just 2 minutes later as the visitors claimed the killer goal from which Polska never recovered. Radek Gaglewski then made it 5-4 on 85 minutes after Przerwa had earlier hit the post and Szczyplzyk had missed a good chance. Fosse completed the Polska misery by making it 6-4 on 89 minutes.

SPIDER: Saved a penalty but at fault for 3 Fosse goals.

PRZERWA: Involved in Polska's 3rd goal. 7/9 completed passes.

WYSOCZANSKI: Won plenty of headers first half, tired as the game went on. 4/4 passes.

KRAGULEC: Gave away a penalty and booked, replaced after a very good Saturday night! 2/3 completed passes.

WASIK: Pretty solid game, moved to centre half late on. 4/4 completed passes.

GAGLEWSKI: Good goal in second half, one of Polska's better players. 14 from 15 successful passes.

DZIOPA: Good game, but became frustrated too easily. 28 from 31 successful passes.

KWIATKOWSKI: Says it all when he was man of the match in a defence that conceded 6. 10 from 10 successful passes.

SZCZYPLZYK: Narrowly failed to be man of the match, looks a great midfield prospect. 17 from 19 passes.

WISNIEWSKI: Good first goal, looked at home in a striker position. 10 from 12 passes.

WIECZOREK: 2 good goals, unnecessary booking despite being wrongly flagged offside. 7 from 9 successful passes.

SUBS:

POWSZENKO: Hard game to be introduced in.

PROCINSKI: Made his 99th Knighton Park appearance.
