 Match Report

LEICESTER POLSKA still await their first win of the season, and if they continue to defend the way they did for the first half hour of this game, that wait will continue. Leicester Foxes are top of the league, and showed their skill by easily getting the better of the confused Polska rearguard and went 3-0 up with goals on 7, 12 and 23 minutes to pretty much bury the game. Polska then changed their back four to a back three, and came out with tremendous purpose in the second half. They dominated the next 15 minutes, only for Foxes to make it 4-0 on the hour with their first attack of the second half. Maciek Wisniewski then ensured Polska scored in their 45th consecutive game on 72 minutes after being set up with a lovely Marek Dziopa pass to make it 5-1, a goal that had been coming after Tom Allen had had a goalbound shot tremendously cleared off the line and the strong Foxes keeper palm away a strong Wisniewski shot for a corner. Foxes then made it 5-1 after skipping past 3 Polska players down the right, before Wisniewski scored again on 77 minutes to get his 5th of the season. Rys Procinski then came on after 86 minutes for his 100th Knighton Park appearance and level the all time appearance record with Tom Lane, and might have scored at the death only for his header to narrowly miss the post.

PLAYER RATINGS:

SPIDER: A great one on one stop in the second half, and couldn't really prevent the goals. 5 from 7 passes.

WYSOCZANSKI: Gave the ball away for one of the Foxes' goals first half, and had a hard time against the league leaders. 5 from 7 passes.

KWIATKOWSKI: Good start to the game, but not quite as assured as last week. 10 from 11 successful passes.

PRZERWA: Created more problems for the opposition when switched to a wing back, passed the ball well. 17 from 20 passes.

KROL: Steady debut from the new defender, all 8 passes completed successfully.

GAGLEWSKI: Tried probing away down the left hand side, but needed more of the ball. 16 from 18 passes.

DZIOPA: Arguably at fault for the 4th Foxes goal, set up Polska's first. 26 from 28 passes.

SZCZYPZYK: Drifted in and out of the game, but got involved heavily in the passes. 13 from 15 passes.

ALLEN: Had his best game in a Polska shirt so far when switched to centre mid. Unlucky not to score. 16 from 20 passes.

OSIPINSKI: Great to have him back from injury, looked a bit rusty. 6 from 9 passes.

WISNIEWSKI: Scored 2 fine goals, and looks to be the best positional switch of the season. 9 from 9 passes.

SUBS:

PROCINSKI: Nearly scored to set up a 9 day drinking binge.
