Season 1997-98
Match Report | 0-0 draws on Sunday mornings are about as rare as Chris Eames paying his subs, but this one introduced the Polska contingent to the lovely Bev Gibson, that silver tongued charmer who believes in never shouting at referees or opposition players or linesmen. Her pearl of wisdom in this game came when one of the Burrows players was virtually unconscious after being knocked down in a fair but heavy challenge. Polska's Steve Jarowicki tended to the poor Burrows player, and told the referee that the player should be subbed as he 'couldn't see straight'. Mrs Gibson went into a rage, accusing Steve of 'trying to get the ref to get one of our best players off the pitch!' You couldn't make it up! | |
